System 2 Fly Reel spares

Does anyone know where you can get spares for Scientific Anglers System 2 fly reels. I have a few in the 10/11 and 12/13 model.

What I am after is some new brake linings and a click pawl spring. I've tried a few of the local tackle shops in the NE Scotland without success.

The only info I got was that the distributor went bust and that spares are not available.

Does anyone know where I can get some spares

I have a problem with one, and was advised to contact Leeda on 01527 587450. I did so, and they in turn passed me on to someone else who is supposed to be handling this sort of thing (whose number I've now lost - sorry).

They couldn't help me with my problem, but you may have better luck.

They didn't go bust; unfortunately Orvis, who owned the factory where the reels were made, closed it down and transferred production to China. Incidentally, I have been told that they are starting to make the Magnums again in the Chinese factory, but that they can't produce System 2's - something to do with quality control, allegedly, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence in their other products!

I think you probably rang me as I had a conversation the other week about this .

They are a goner. I was told to ring China by the importer - but seeing as they no longer make them they will not have any bits.

The replacement Wildrun at £120 is ok to look at and the drag seems a whole lot better than the system 2 - well at least it will not be easily knocked to the off position like the old ones but only time will tell

Yes, I did contact you a few weeks back without success.

However I received good news today that Orvis, who are dealing with the limited spares available, have what I require.

They were very helpful but reluctant to let them go unless they were an absolute must
