went down the river today for four hours.... didnt see a single fish and the river was very low...... plenty of fish being caught at Coupar Grange below the Ericht AC stretch......but must be held up! Anyway...... just as i was about to leave...... ooopsforward cast and a wee crack...... rubber butt and bottom centimeter of the cork in my hand! typical! But not to worry, its only asthetic! trying to re-attatch tonight with some super glue... but i suspect it wont work! never mind.....holding the botton handle a little too low when casting? or just crappy cork? be aware!..... rod still casts fine without it..... and hopefully it will be 10grams less weight! haha ;D

John, This should not happen, no matter how you hold the rod with your bottom hand. I would suggest returning the rod to the shop for replacement, or fixing. Failing that, deal directly with Shakspeare. If neither of these options are available to you, I could fix it properly for you free of charge. However, you would have to get the rod to me. I'm fishing Kercock on the 6th and 13th of May. If you have no joy by then, I could pick it up one week and return it the next. However, I would mention it to both the shop and Shakespeare and tell them that you looked for answers on this forum. They should want to replace the rod so that you let the other forum members know the happy outcome

John
Should not be any hassle with Shakespeare. Give them a ring direct and they should send you a replacement butt section 24 hr delivery. Tell them it came from me and that you need it to fish asap and cant wait for it to come to me and then out to you. Shakespeare are one of the best at customer relations.
