MY wife andfamily bought me a B/W Norway 15ft #10/11 as a present ,I've had some lessons but to be honest i dont get out enough to put in a lot of practice ,but the thing is i wonder is this to much rod for me i mostly fish the Bandon river and its a small river 40ft at its widest, and i probably wont get to use the rod untill the summer fish arrive so i wont be tossing heavy tubes etc with sunken lines ,thing i wonder about is should i put the rod up for a swap ( same rod 9/10) or similar or would i get more used to the rod and feel comfortable with it after some use, Corky

No doubt about it Graham the 13 footer is an absolute cracker.with the correct line of course.

nice present and well informed family ;D By the sounds of it a 13fter or even a 12fter would be more suited to your needs. tight lines for later in the year. E

Corky if you can afford it have both! you never know when you will get a chance to fish a different river and require the bigger rod. You know it makes sense and believe me once you have started salmon fishing you will make more and more time for it every season.
