Can anyone give me a comparison on the Hardy Mach lines...I v II? I've fished the Mach I for a few years and like it. Good for turning over tips and heavy flies. I know they've changed the profile for the Mach II...thinner and lenghtened taper so how do they compare? Better or...?
cheers

My pal has the Mach 2 long floater in 10/11 for his Amorphous 15ft 9/11 and I am sorry to say its Poo!, I am a staunch believer in any thing Hardy but am afraid in my and several others opinions they have got this one wrong, none of us can get it to work at all it refuses to shoot and when you do get it out you get a perfect semi-circle presentation, also tried it on my Hardy Sovereign 15ft 6 rated 10 and it wont go on that either.By comparison got a Hardy Dry Spey 10 and that works very well on both rods but its well past its best and isn't made any more (shame). If you are after a similar sort of line try the M.Evans range, not bad at all worth a go and a bit longer to boot too. Pedro.

Thanks Pedro. I've had M. Evans lines in the past. There are OK, but they don't offer a sink-tip.
Anyway, thanks for this feedback.
