Whats the best method for forming a loop in your cast to allow loop to loop connections to flyline.

If I am right, your question is about forming a loop at the fly-line end of your leader material. The easiest way to do this is to tie a simple surgeons loop -

I've never had one fail me while playing a fish. Although, it is often weaker than the knot at the hook, as it more often breaks before the hook knot when I have been forced to snap when snagged in trees or the bottom.
