Thinking of buying a new lightweight salmon reel. Does anyone have any experience of the Partridge Large Arbour 1112 ?

Hi Fishtail, i have'nt myself, but i can recommend the vision GT, i purchased one last year and so far its been faultless, its nicely engineered, great drag, it looks classy and it comes with a free spare spool..and the best bit, you can get one cheap in the sale from sportsfish.

Ian, I had considered the Vision GT. Does it have the same drag knob as the Koma? I use a Koma with my 10' Sea Trout rod but the drag keeps adjusting itself. Don't know if it just needs tightening or if I am knocking it while fishing. Otherwise a great reel.
Alan, Thats a good deal at Lochside well worth considering. The President just looks a bit weak to me. Not a lot of material there to take a knock or two.

I too have a Koma and have experienced similar problems, but the GT's drag seems much more delicate and precise with a nice positive increments, i assume its a totally different drag setup..but would ask a dealer to be sure.

Hi
The GT drag is completely different and the reel is in a different class to the Koma.

Got myself the Vision GT and a spare spool from those nice people in Lancaster. WOW!!! Its a very nice piece of engineering with a lovely progressive drag. I was expecting something in grey as the catalogue pictures but its finished in bronze! It even matches the reel seat on my rod. Thanks for the advise guys. Steve
