Has anyone tried the Partridge Ian Gordon Fast Spey 15 foot rod? You would think it should a good combination when teamed up with an IG line.
Any comments or views?

I wasn't impressed with this rod - found it much softer than expected. They are very well finished and look very nice and feel very light in the hand - this particular model did not perform as well as it looked. IG lines are very good though.

beanieboy, Thanks for you reply. I see you have a similar thread running in 14' rod. I am checking out rods for my father who also has shoulder problems and needs a lighter double hander. Perhaps he should be considering a 14'?

Hi Guy's
Not tried the 15' rod but I really liked the 16' fast it casts an IG 75' head & the Carron 75' floater superbly. You can fire out some massive spey casts with nice tight loops with little effort. I don't see why it would struggle with sunk line work either although I haven't tried it. I would say the rod suited my casting style well which is probably 40/60% top/bottom hand.
As per springer try before you buy nothing worse than forking out the cash & ending up with a rod you can't get on with.
Cheers Simmo

Thanks for the replies. We will take a look at the 14 footer teamed with an IG floating line.
