I have a Hardy Mach 1 9/10 which casts very well - albeit the head is rather short. I had the same line in a 10/11 which, for whatever reason, I didn't find as good [on various rods]. I also have the Mach 2 Plus #10 which is a bit of a mixed bag - it is a nightmare to get the head out when starting to cast as the rod does not load at all until the whole head is out [again I found this with various rods], however when the head is out the line casts very well indeed with great turnover. I have noticed a Mach 1 Plus 9/10 on e-bay and would be tempted if I thought it would be as good as the Mach 1 referred to at the start of this thread. Anyone used the Mach 1 Plus #9/10?

I bought one of those Mach 1 plus 9/10 from ebay and it is very light, more like an 8 when you weigh the whole head. However, it does cast quite nicely. I bought a #9 Mach 2 plus with sink tip and this is a very good line. I agree it doesn't work well at short range as the taper is very fine, but overall it casts well.
