Cheers folks a great 24th birthday and a great week. Spent it on Birse. Our party managed 3 loosing a further three. Very slow, mind you the water was sitting at 36degree most of the week. A great week all the same when fishing amongst good friends and a few bottles of scottish water.  Fruin Macd was fishing with us. It was good to meet him at last and share a few stories! Macd? |

Do you think the cold water was the main problem and is still holding up larger numbers of fish from running up to Aboyne?
Anything doing on the other bank - i see there was one fish reported on the saturday?

Yes the cold water was holding the fish in the lower river. We did see the odd pod of fish running through, but nothing like what you would expect with the amount of fish in the lower river. Two of the fish we had on Saturday however were liced, so the odd one is making a dart for the upper river.

We had some week, great crack. Saw some things Ill never forget.........  . Started the week wetting the head of one of the party's new baby; then moved onto fishingdo's birthday, the Wednesday is a bit hazy. Also did a bit of fishing. Fished it hard, but was tough week. |

Im sitting here in my shorts on the Gold Coast in Australia and I dont like the sound of that cold water. Im up at Crathie end of next week and could do with it warming up a bit to pull a few fish up.
Fingers crossed for a heatwave over the weekend...
