Hi Lads,
Does anyone know if the Hardy Ocean Prince No2 will be able to take a 65' head speyline and say 150m of 30lbs backing?
Struggling to get a good Marquis No3 and have found a nicely priced and good condition Ocean Prince 2 that i may be tempted with.
Thanks in advance Clydebuilt

I've used one of mine with an Airflo Delta Long 9/10 (65 ft head), and am pretty sure it held at least 130 yards of 30lb Airflo Micro Poly backing.
They have been my standard reel for sinking lines for some years now and I do like them. The drag is really good strong and smooth. With the adjustment dial being right next to the fingers of your winding hand, making changes during playing a fish is really easy. The anti-reverse does take some getting used to.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply al44, I think i'll give it a go and see how it is, if it's not what i need then it will do for the salt water.
Cheers CB
