I have recently been using a 10ft clear intermediate tapered polyleader made by airflo. The problem is that, when it gets any sunlight, no matter how slight, it seems to reflect and glow like a mini fluorescent bulb. Obviously this removes the stealth advantage of it being clear in the first place. On closer inspection it appears that the problem is as a result of the nylon core and the clear coating not marrying together properly. I have bought a couple of these thinking that it was a one off, but each time they have been the same. I was wondering if anyone uses these or could recommend a brand that doesnt have these problems. Thanks.

not sure if it would work, but slightly staining it with tea or grass/leaves might be worth a try.

I don't have a solution for the problem but,as an anecodote, when fishing for striped bass of Cape Cod, I have had bluefish bite clear intermediate lines in half due to the flash that they give off in the water. It does make you question there potential stealth advantage under certain conditions

why not use a slow sinker, is the poly tip a fast or a slow intermediate there wont be much difference , i use the airflow poly tips seven densities in the wallet that includes floater , hover, intermediate, slow sink, fast sink, extra fast sink , and super fast sink , i think you could probably use some sort of anti glare faction maybe fullers earth or the likes to take the sheen of it or better still make your own tip out of a mill end that way you can pick the line with the least glare billy p

Thanks for all the good advice. Have taken the sheen off it with fullers earth and then soaked it in black tea. Worked a treat. Sorted.
