I'm looking for a 12 1/2 footer for my local river. I can't get on well with my 12' 2" Altmor Spey and will be selling when I find a suitable replacement.
Two rods are in the frame - A Sage 12' 6" #8/9 or a Hardy Gem 12'.
Anyone got any opinions or experience on the merits of either? Anyone got a Sage for sale in this size?
I've got the above Altmor surplus and may even consider trading an immaculate Hardy Ultralite 13' 6" if anyone had a suitable Sage for sale/trade. (Though am probably loath to part with the Ultralite)
thanks again.

I have a Sage 12'6" 8/9# and love it. It is capable of landing a nice delicate cast but also has a bit of grunt when needed. If you are ever near SW Scotland call me and I will let u have a fling

Thanks Robbie. I've cast one before and was very impressed with it's ability. I have managed to track a 3 piece 12' 6" #8 European model in the States and it has been ordered!

I also have a Sage 12`6- fantastic tool. Over the years i have bought from the states but been hit by import tax- any way round this?
Also uk dealers will discount if put under pressure.
