Thanks Steve.
I'm considering purchasing one but would like to know if it would hold sufficient backing along with a Carron JS 75ft 10/11 Floater.

Thanks Malcolm.
Thought that might be the case.
Probably going to upgrade to the 80ft JS next season so will hold out for a 3.

I've got a no.2 with a IG full sinker on - could only get about 50 yards of backing on - adds to the excitment Dave

I spoke to Hardy the other day, I heard elsewhere they were re-introducing the Marquis salmon range next year. A quick email and it was confirmed they are indeed, no date given however. I for one will be very interested, especially for the No3's, they are going for mad money on ebay at the mo and to buy before trying is a bit of a gamble imo.

Is this going to be a re-run of the old model or a totally new model with the Marquis name?

I would hope they stick to the lines of the original models, and fingers crossed, the reel will be made locally. However, I'm sure if you drop them an email via their website someone will advise, they seem pretty good at answering questions
