I am looking for a new reel to take my number ten spey line, must be disk drag and make one hell of a sound when a fish takes( I enjoy the buzzzz) . Many modern reels are too quiet.
Any ideas?

Forget modern. Get a Marquis. Sweeeeeeeet music. ;D

I like the buzz of my Hardy Angel. Not the loudest but still nice to hear the reel sing on a good run!
Uppertonbrace is right though, the older classics make sweet music!
All depends on what you want to spend too!

I have dusted down my Marquis loaded it with backing and a Snowbee 3D - Just need rain to bring in more Solway Silver into the river to test it.
On Inspection at Glasgow AC I find that the best singers are Angel and Sirrus Allwater.

Marquis Salmon No3 for me, the one I picked up recently sounds like a Bren gun going off when you rip some line out

Or maybe an Abel super 10. Changed to these reels a couple of years ago for my Salmon/Steelhead fishing, a robust reel to say the least, and the stoping power of the drag system is second to none. For lighter fishing, say up to 8wt I have the Lamson Litspeed with their sealed conical drag system. Cap.
