Bein new to this board it may be nice to introduce nyself: My name in Hans, from The Netherlands. I have been flyfishing for more than 25 years now, and salmonfishing for some 15 years, mainly in Norway (Gaula, Suldalslagen, Numendalslagen)and a few times in bonnie Scotland (Spey, Tummel, Tay), with satisfying results. I do all of my rodbuilding and flytying myself. This year I am planning a trip to the river Annan in October, really look forward to it.... Hope to find and share some knowledge in this board.... Cheers from Holland, Hans.

Hi Hans, Welcome to the forum, you will find everyone on it very friendly and helpful. I fish the Annan regularly, so if you need any information before Oct let me know.

Before joining this board I have been reading a lot of posts, and indeed, it's a really friendly bunch here, very helpfull. In Holland there are no salmonrivers, the last samon in Dutch waters was gratefully killed by a fisherman in the early 20's of last century. So far for Dutch salmon. There are always ambitious plans to reintegrate salmon into the river Rhine etc. so far without results An occasional fish is taken by an angler with a spinningrod. I am afraid I cannot be helpful to someone who is planning a trip to the Dutch rivers But, I do all of my tying myself, can cast a decent line, and know some parts of Norway. If it comes to that I can and will be as helpful as I can.... Cheers my friends. Hans.
