these are of the top of the river (bt 13) as it emerges from Loch More into the Upper Bridge Pool the first 2 were taken in Jun05 after the biggest summer spate in many years. This one was taken in april05- quite a contrast A beautiful river, but a cruel mistress macd

A river I have never fished. I know your farther fishes it on a regular basis. Are they picking up any fish at the mo?
Whats the crack with the sale of the river? Will joe bloggs still be able to get onto it?

The Thurso is a beautiful river. I have only fished it once, beat 10 I think but would jump at the chance to fish it again. Bit of a trek from Lancashire but worth the petrol money.

It is beautiful; I love it there. Its a fickle river, but that is part of the attraction. bt 10 has some lovely pools.

Highest I've ever see Loch More. Can't wait to see what Eddie says in his regular Thurso report. Last time I fished beat 13 there was a Frenchmen some 20' below the "Cottage" painting a picture.

Holy cr*p I've fished the Thurso a few times and seen both highs and desperate lows but that level on Loch More - well, it's simply extraordinary. Reckon Eddie will be breaking out the water wings at this rate.................. ;D

Comments from Eddie re. the spate on Thursday.
"It has been a very frightening week. The river went in to the biggest spate ever on Thursday which peaked at seven and a half feet and, although back on to the gauge, we still are unable to identify the damage done. The bridge on beat seven was completely under water, nearly all of the Luncheon Huts were engulfed, there is a quite big Island just above my house where , as as kids, my friends and I used to build our "Gang ut" ---- it no longer exists. It will be midweek of next week at the earliest before we can identify the damage done but I will update you immediately."
Aye, Eddie
