Here are a couple of pics of the River Spey Lifejacket Testing Facility, more commonly known as the Rhynd at Kinermony - Wester Elchies. Slightly different conditions but still the wading looks easy enough - until you try it!

The neck of the Boat pool can be interesting, but the Slabs are a breeze.

Thanks very much for your time last week, it was very kind of you. I thought that I was a half-decent caster before watching you, a 'reel' pleasure and with so little effort too! Hopefully I will get the chance one day to watch you in competition mode but I think for now, I'll just skulk away and leave the distance casting to the ' big boys '

Be assured though, I will heed every bit of advice you offered and when I can cast the full jetsream into wind will come up for the next lesson!

Well spotted, yes Geoff still looks after Ken - they are a great team and both love the river with a passion. Makes quite a decent rod too!

It's disappointing that the Rhynd was sometimes monopolised by our side in the past but it seems that they were aptly rewarded! Currently in higher water we do fish 3 rods in the boatpool but as you know it can hold 3 on either bank quite easily. We certainly never fish 3 rods in the Rhynd and indeed only fish 2 rods on the top-half of the beat from April onwards. If you fancy a cast from this side some evening later in the year just give me a ring and I'll arrange it. Just added another Spey in May pic.
