scottyboy if you like fishing the tay you should try upper farlayer, its about 3 miles upstream of aberfeldy, chance of a fish from mabye april onwards, good for the grilse also, its only like £20-£30 up until october i think then its about £50, its worth a go, permits from the aileen craggan hotel in aberfeldy. think its booked for the rest of the season though scotty. It's absolutely fantastic fly water - I'm on there tomorrow ;D and yes, it's booked up. If it wasn't I would go again. Good value for £35.

Scottyboy - you've put the kiss of death on it!! I blanked. Lost one in the morning and saw a few. You should have a go there next season. It's much easier to cover than the beats further down and you'd come away with some superb photos if nothing else. The junction pool must be one of the best "bottlenecks" anywhere on the Tay - a cracking spot to ambush fish on the way through.

I've never fished for sea trout specifically, but every time I cross that bridge I think it always LOOKS as though it's a likely place. Anyone fished it?

ianjay about the river wae the bridge in it,best ive ever fished for seatrout (20 years ago) u could have 20 in an hour, and the grilse used to be bouncing all the way to the loch in july not now still seatrout but not as many, a 19lb seatrout was caught by the old keeper( jock black) in the loch ,i fished in the sea wirh strip of herring and bubble ,but there is new keepers now that dont allow any fishing even though argll estates dont own below the bridge. but as scotish law u cant fish within 1 mile of low tide mark of a river containing salmon, seatrout. and youre secret river scotty is either the top of this river or its the next the aray
