What are they for and how are they fished?
i have read some references to them and i even own one but i am clueless.

i usually fish them in low water on a full floater,when there are resident fish that wont look at anything ,square cast over the pool and hand line fast ,you will find this can be very effective. good luck !!!!

on some of the small highland spate rivers,they are used to dibble the pools to great effect,(a form of wake fishing)
this year i changed to templedog hair up to 6" long instead of my usual bear hair.with very good results,5 fish caught and returned.
