Hi, does anybody know if there have been any springers off the Eden yet ? I have fished at Warwick Hall before ( lovely beat ) and fancied another bash in the next few weeks.

On the PAAS site there is some talk of fish being taken at a couple of points on the Eden mostly below the PAAS beats but fresh fish being seen as far up as Lazonby. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Fished Warwick Hall on Monday. It rained all day Sunday so the river was up 3ft and a bit coloured. No fresh fish, just the odd kelt.
Had a chat with Charlie the gillie, no fresh fish as yet but he was hopeful for the rest of the week with the lift of water.
Highlight of the day was watching a peregrine falcon take a lapwing out of the sky over the far bank, not thirty yards from where I was fishing. Amazing. Something I'll remember long after the blank day is forgotten.

Hi Sam, thanks for the info. Wawick Hall is a bonny stretch. Which beat do you prefer? We have fished the Top beat several times, never tried the Park beat. My fishing buddy caught a cracking 10lb springer in May from the Garden pool 2 seasons ago. Never got chance to fish it last season.
Regards,
Macsalmo

I like the top beat but never seem to fish it as well as the Park. Not so good off my left shoulder! The beat I fish on the Dee is left bank as well so my single spey is good of the right shoulder, not so good off the left.
Been a massive amount of gravel moved in the next pool round from the House pool. A big back eddy has torn away a lot of the bank on the inside of the bend which is a shame. Doesnt fish nearly as well. Probably the big flood in Jan last year.

I'm off to the Eden tomorrow. More to receive a boat for one of our beats than fishing, but if i here any reports i'll let you know...

Managed to get out this afternoon, even though i put a nail through my foot yesterday!
The Eden was pretty low but did manage a big kelt which was very well mended - 15lb plus. It was caught on a fly i tied myself and seen as though i only started tying last week it made it all the more enjoyable.
Apparently the river is very quiet at the moment.

Its not a river i keep to close an eye on living on the Tyne, but i would imagine it must have had a good spate in the last couple of weeks.
On a very negative side there were 36 Comorants on the beat which is a very sad sight. Why on earth they are not being controlled i don't know?

Hi,
Fished the Eden at Warwick Hall on Monday. No fish but saw a couple. Water is falling away making many of the pools a bit slow flowing but they have had a number of fish over the past few weeks. Charlie says they are up to 30 for the season.
If they get a bit of rain then the fishing could be really good.

I dont know if this link will work Springer, if not you will have the web address : http:www.warwickhall.org/ I have only fished at warwick hall so I can't really help you any more of the beats. The Trout & Salmon reports usually have beat no.s and contacts at the end of the Eden report. Hope this helps.
