You 'could' have a couple of good days there Alan if the weather settles down. Seems to be rain on wed night and on fri at the moment.

Good luck Alan,
Ive only fished the Top beat, the park beat is a little bit slower but fishes well with just a little bit of water. I beleive the battery is one of the best pools, although there are plenty of good pools on there.
Let me know how you get on.

Alan - how did you rate Warwick Hall - nice fly water? I've only seen it from the A69 bridge, looks to be a nice pool upstream opposite the hall.

theres some good fly water if you get some rises of water in july and august it sets it up for the season fish on the lies. otherwise they take a pasteing of the haaf nets.

There's an article in February's T&S about the Garden of Eden beat on the Eden at Lazonby.
Has anybody fished it? Are there any other salmon ticket beats on Eden apart from this and Warwick Hall.
I thought the article filled 6 pages of T&S without saying much of great interest - must be difficult writing a fishing article if you don't actually catch anything! ;D

nah John an article on salmon fishing with no fish is highly realistic , nice to see the occasional tell it as it often is article. See what you mean - nice to see the experts blank as well, when they fish empty water like we ususally do! ;D Still waiting for that article about the Conwy to be published - when the army of draftees blanked.

I suspect that article is sealed via the Official Secrets Act -30 , 50 year embargo , it'll probably come out with the "truth" about Diana , Shergar etc ;D ;D ;D Yes, even old Max would have struggled to write 2 pages on that visit!

We got some fairly negative feedback on the Warwick beat from somebody we met. Allegedly, house rods fish through the pools before ticket anglers start at 9.00am, and the house rod will slot in tight behind you and pressure you down the pool. Not for me, I'm afraid.

Yes Gary - there's a photo in the Gallery of a 32" fish from Warwick Hall. The report mentions a couple of other fish.

there was an 18lbs fly caught beauty of the c a a water 2 weeks ago. it is very under fished because of catch and release is in force till 16 june many fishermen dont even wet aline if they did i think people would catch plenty of fish from march onwards.

worth a look at their web site Alan, they seem to have a lot of water: www.carlisleanglingassociation.org/I've often driven over the M6 bridge and thought the pool downstream could be worth a cast.

Edenman
I rang the EA gauge for the Eden at Appleby today and the level was .59 and falling.
Do you know what gauge heights equate to good fly fishing? Is there not a gauge downstream of Penrith?

Hi,
Best source of info on the Eden in my experience is John Norris. Ask for Julian or Rob, they're usually happy to help if not too busy with customers.
Im fishing Warwick Hall Wed next week and Lazonby on Thursday, so fingers crossed.

the readings can be misleading and it depends where you are fishing the rivercall gives you 3 areas appelby down to corby. you have alot of different rivers coming eamont , irving, petrol, caldew, if it was that height through the system association water would be no good for fly. the river is big today in carlisle
