I agree with Graham on this one but you might also want to consider studded Aquastealth soles. This is latest design from SIMMS (and others). It's a good all-surface sole. You'll find a good deal right now on the website of sierra trading post. They're US based but ship internationally. Have a look under fishing catagory.

Owen, I agree with Graham, choose a sole that is right for the places that you fish and not what works for other people.
Here are the questions to ask yourself.
Will I be doing a lot of walking on wet/dry grass and mud?
Will I be doing a lot of walking on stones?
What is on the bottom of the rivers that I fish most?
From the above answers you should be a little nearer to choosing a sole that is right for you.
