Malcolm
No, nothing from our side. A 10lber from opposite bank in the morning.
Knocked up a Sunray Shadow/Blue Elver thingy last night and stripped it through at Carnousie today and had a trout. Two kelts from The Loggs later on a small cascade. When do we see the last of the kelts?
PS Couldn't find a suitable virgin, Norwegian or otherwise.

Richard - you must be the unluckiest fisher on the Deveron this week. Reports to my ear up until tonight show- 22 fish taken this week. FOUR at Turtory on Thursday.

Frank Remember, I did have one at Carnousie on Tuesday morning. Tommy fished Carnousie/Upper Netherdale yesterday and didn't touch a thing.
Malcolm Are you saying there's no guarantee that there won't be one for me at Carron?

speed of the fly, my local river the ericht at blairgowrie has allowed me to try differant ways to fish the fly. sunk lines and a fast fly in the spring {feb, march, april,} works very well. i tried to copy the cutlery fishermen that fished the flying c, so tied a large shrimp pattern in yellow which i moved in a cold high water, . . the result in four hours was ten springers, so a fast moving fly works well for me in cold water :

Ten springers, that is good going!!! When you say a large shrimp pattern, what size of hook/tube do you mean?

Had two fish on Friday and one took the fly like a trout as it (the fly) scooted across the surface in a fast run.

johnmac you must stop greetin in the river as it will put the river up,and the fish will get past you. as to the best parts of the river, mmmmm, any pools below the lade pool in the cold water early in the year and above the blair bridge ,march , april , may.in a big flood.
