Hey Guys
I started this year flyfishing for salmon and I want to know what are the best knots, especially for the Wilson salmon hook Series from partridge.
I normally make a clinch knot but it moves to one of the sides.

Salmao,
I agree with Ross, except I use the double turle knot more commonly. These knots are probably the best recognised for attaching fly to leader in salmon fishing.
When I have dressed the head of a fly too heavily and I cannot get a turle knot to hold, I use a half tucked blood knot, but thread the leader through the eye of the fly twice before tying the knot; this helps prevent the knot slipping to one side.

springer I have seen your technique used in Norway where it is very popular, lots of movement in the fly too. With the tucked blood knot it helps if you put the hook on to a ring on your waistcoat or a pair of scizzors and pull the knot even tighter, you will not get the knot tight enough with your fingers to prevent the hinging effect. I reckon..
