It was a hell of a week Iainjay so don't be too despondent. I fished Ballogie/Carlogie Thursday to Saturday and did manage one fish on the Thursday, a rather coloured 9lber which I saw sneaking up the far side in the Ballogie Flats and was able to hang a fly in front of. The water height on Thursday was perfect 1'10" dropping away to 1'5" but it was clear that there are very few salmon in the river apart from a few old residents. This was confirmed by talking to a few of the ghillies who are pretty down about things. There were a good number of sea trout about until the big rise in water killed it a bit for them also. It will be interesting to see whether any grilse start to run this week - lets hope so
