What with work and this years weather, I've only managed a couple of outings this year. I'm desperate not to have a fishless season. Based in the Bristol area so ideally would be looking at S.W Wales, Devon areas. Any suggestions for breaking my duck over the next couple of weeks (spinning or worm).

The Lyn will be worth a look if rain arrives this week, there will be stale fish about in it anyway if you fancy drowning a worm. The Dulverton anglers water and fish the Exe waters should come good, again if rain arrives. There are a few fish in the Exe but it is desperate for water. www.fishtheexe.co.uk/There is a season extension (C&R) until 14th October on the Exe. I think it's fly only but given normal conditions (wet) any of beats available through fish the exe or Dulverton AA will give you fish. Andy

If Cornwall appeals & you're planning on staying overnight I'd try; www.butterwellfishery.co.ukwww.wainsford.comOtherwise you can buy day tickets for the Camel from Rogers' Fishing Tackle in Bodmin. The season's open until Dec 15th so plenty of time to hook a few, and they're really beginning to show a bit more now, off the back of the tides as the rivers are still at summer levels. some parts are a bit commando for fly, but well worth the effort.
