Hi guys A simplistic chap with a simpler question.
Earlier this month I fished the Annan for a week. The water was very low and I came away empty handed. So, hope springs eternal and Ive booked another day on 10 Nov. on the Dryform beat in the middle of the river. As yet it is still to rain in the area and the river is still super super low. So, my question is.... if and when the rain does come is it likely that all the fish out in the estuary waiting will make a headlong dash for the head waters immediately given time is pressing on and spawning time is near or is it more likely that they will pause along the way?
Put another way would it be better to book a day at the top end of the river, the middle or the bottom? I'm assuming it will rain a great deal the river rise say 3 feet and then drop back slowly. Thoughts on any other scenarios too would be great! I come up from Wiltshire so want to try and make the very best possible of what will be my last session of the season.
