Nice flies macd. I fear that a lot of salmon anglers would steer clear because of the bright green and blue - died in the wool yellow, orange and black fisherman especially. While there is no argument against the more traditional colours, I feel that it pays to experiment, especially so on heavily fished waters. A friend of mine has been doing well over the last couple of seasons with bright pink creations. Heaven forbid, I even incorporated some pink into Willie Gunns last night I witnessed a fisherman doing well on association water last spring with a very large, very bright, green fly. I know that the Thurso Dog also does well from the article by your father. Might even tie some tonight. Is that GP topping in the tail?

Have to thank macd for the pattern in flyfishing and flytying. Tied one before i went to Galway Weir last week.size 11 salar double. Result: 5 on the Thurso Dog on the dropper and 2 on my old faithful gold stoat on the point. Cracking fly for galway and there will be more than one travelling next time i go.
Thanks again Ross
