Thought I'd tie up some various patterns on aluminium tubes and plastic tubes. Does anybody use alum. & plastic tubes much? I normally just use brass tubes but thought I'd try variating my presentation ie; sinking line with a light tube to fish it on a different keel. Does anybody fish this method and does it work for them ?

Hi Graham,
Do you fish them with sinking or sinktip lines much?

Hi Graham, sorry for sounding thick but ..... How does the cone head fish on a more even keel than the alum. in slow moving water, does it not want to nose dive?

Macsalmo,
It has all the triggers required to get a taker to take.
I tied something similar a few weeks ago but haven't used it much as I have more confidence in the black and yellow. However, the cascade seemes to be the killer on the Tay this spring.
Somebody was telling me that the Cascade with a gold body and purple wing took more springers on the Tweed than any other fly last year. It may just have been that more anglers were using it. Either way, it gives you something else to get busy with at the vice.

I must admit Fruin, 70% of my fish the last 3 seasons have been caught on the cascade. So what you've just said means it will be fished with confidence over the coming weeks.
Thanks,
Macsalmo
