ive been tying about three years and want to try a classic style but dont know where to start , any recommendations? nothing too fancy tip toe first

By classic I guess you're meaning winged flies Start off with the medicine fly and get the slips of bronze mallard matched up rather than rolled. Much more than a Sea Trout fly If you crack the matched slips of mallard then it's (relatively!) easy from there on, if you've already got the matched slips etc cracked then something different to tie might be an Ackroyd It isn't as hard to tie as it looks To my mind the one in the picture is a might over dressed. Have fun

didnt have all the right materials but hows this ?couldnt get the wing to sit down any further without it curling
