Celtic have strong Irish roots ,the other colour would be gold/orange to make up the r o i flag. A green highlander variant would be your best bet.

Probably yellow. Try a tube fly with a mix of yellow, green, and white bucktail... Add a bit of ginger for the manager

img363.imageshack.us/img363/623/dsc04562jf1.jpgHere's a quick interpretation of the "fly from the dark side" - just rattled it off guys so sorry - the hand's still a bit shaky !! Full dressing available on request, though not sure I'll be trying it - made the "hackles" on my neck stand up even tying it !! ;D ;D Could this prompt a Gers pattern ?

Could this prompt a Gers pattern ? I'm on it! there's no way we could have celtic pattern without a gers one. It just wouldn't be the done thing now ;D

Can't wait Granters, you'll see I was a tad hasty with the demon fly - take your time over the hallowed one and post it in all it's glory for all the world to see !!!! (Oops ... possibly getting a bit carried away there).

I will try my best. I think we should have a wee tying comp. Dress a fly to represent your team! Some of the best flies i've come up with have came from being asked to tie one from my own imagination, such as tying a nymph with my nephew's hair etc. I'll maybe start a new thread if anyone's intersted?

I'll go for that - who knows what we might come up with - could be the next Mr Gowans' special !!

how about a comp where all gers use blue charms all season and the celts use Green highlanders all season the banter on here would be good well until a riot break on on the banks of the Clyde ;D when my fly swap is finished i will get working on a livi fly ha ha cant be worse than my team

For a Rangers fly you'll need some French Turkey

To manage the Celtic Fly, you'll have to tie it short with a red head

Blue arctic runner is a nice shade for a gers fly. Perfect for the wing. You can get it most tackle outlets- but drop me a line if you cant get hold of it. Looking forward to seeing it crawfish. The celtic fly is nice, but looks like it would fall to bits on the last day of the season. ;D Ross

its not for fishing with ross, its for a friend who asked if i tie something celticy,(he dont fish), i found it easier with the feather wing as the hairwing kept creeping into each of the colours
