Thanks again for all the advice on wings. I think I have it cracked now. Like sewinangler I'm going for smaller flies to suit my local rivers so the wing is shorter and doesn't curve down like it does on the bigger flies, but it's alot better than I was getting and looks much better than conventional feather wings. Cheers Andy Let us know how you get on with them this season Andy. I'd be very interested. Stu, Have you used grey marabou for the hackle on your Grey Eagle?

Very nice flies boys, wish I could tie flies as good as them. Sewinangler, seen your flies on the other forum, hope to see some more on this one.
I noticed you have all mentioned good fly-tying books about different styles and patterns. I started a thread yesterday on books about fishing and fly-tying. This is exactly why I started the thread, to get some well recommended books by fellow anglers, just thought I'd mention it, if you want to add some recommendations for the fly-tyer and the angler. As I think it would help me out and other fly-tying novices.
Cheers Mike ;D
