Hi lads. Been playing around on the vice today, incorporating pink in to the patterns,a mate of mine does very well on the seatrout using this colour on is local,so I am going to give it a good swim on mine. Do any of you use this colour in your pattern's for the Salmon? if so how successful is it. DAZ.

Nice looking fly Daz.
There's a fly called the Pink Panther, popular on the Tyne I believe.

The pink panther glows a lovely shade of orange in peat stained run off water . My mate has had a 35lb +fish off the tyne (and a succession of other fish) using this fly and swears by it. Tyne rods may well have heard of a lure called the Bellingham sprat which was a similar colour (if my memory serves me right) and was very effective.

DAZ, that is an effin beauty.
I have been using magenta- see my avatar- and a light purple arctic runner the same shade as glo-brite 15 in my NessC flies. Totally with tyneflyfisha-these shades are perfect in peaty water.
I recall seeing the pink panther in something by tommy shaw in T&S a year or two back.
Nice work
Ross

A Friend uses a fly he calls "The Poof Shrimp!" This is basically a Curry's Red with all the red componants replaced with pink. He reckons it does the biz for fresh fish.
Of course the Light Wlkinson Shrimp uses a magenta mid-hackle and has been deadly for fresh fish for years.

This may be pink, but with a tube tied that well, I think ANY colour replacing the pink would be a successful fly. Mike

Nice example Easky. Is that a dyed red G.P. tail I see? Same as my own Wilkinsons if it is. All mine have a glo-brite red head also.
Myself and a friend were commenting that we have never heard of a coloured fish taken on a Wilkinson, have you?

yes its a red dyed GP feather, actually from a dyed orange skin of all things. I alternate between using the orange and red feathers.
Its a great fly that I have caught a lot of fish on - most of these have been fresh fish but I have also caught coloured runners as well. I use it on one particular spate river which is quite peaty and its deadly there ;D
