Excellent Thanks for that. Two questions: 1. Can you source me some monkey hair? 2. How do you fish it in the spring? Intermediate/sinking line fished deep but a bit faster than a standard tube? Colobus Monkey is very difficult to get. You can be lucky to find something hiden is at flytying store. Most of the skins thats legal to get is from around 1950 to 1970 when where using them as blankets/plaids. If you are offered a new skin you have to have cites on. I fish my Monkey flies on all depths. If I fish deep I like to have them on a plastic tube, or else I tie them on brass tubes. I have Monkey flies from 5 to 20 cm long wing. As a sub. you can use goat or polar bear in good quality. But you catch more fish with the real stuff

Think you should be alright with that, the natural black hair could be max 3 to 4 inch long, the white hair that they dye black could be 5 to 6 inch long
