Hi i recently bought some pot bellied pig tubes from an online fly tyer but they had no boar bristle in them! on complaining about this he replied that you dont need them!any views?

Hi Peter,
I wouldn't be too happy getting pot-bellied pigs without the bristles, that's why they are called pot-bellied pigs (the bristles). They are supposed to flicker in the water, I don't know if they make any difference but if you pay for something you should get what you ask for. so IMO I wouldn't go back, if you are looking for some pot-bellied pigs, try McHardy's in Carlisle they are the business.

The curled bristles are one of the defining "markers" of this fly. Post the web address and warm those who buy their flies.
