I'm starting to fill the box up with small dressings for summer (#10-#14) but with the lack of Salar hooks about in this size does anybody have any suggestions? I like a curved hook but it;s not essential. I've been looking all night with no joy as yet. Help!!
Cheers

partridge wilsons in 14 and 16. wilsons are great low water hooks. should be easily obtainable. also think about the partridge code p hooks- they are dumpy like the salars and cost much less
Salar in 13s and 15s were due out this year, but the factory shift has put things back a year.

I'm currently using #12-14 sawada doubles(code SD3) for my clients'.... it may be a little heavy in the wire for your taste, I don't know if their LW goes down as small though! I source them from Pat Stevens @ Flytek

Guys, Got some VMC doubles in size 12, silver and gold and they seem ok. got them at mchardys in carlisle at £2.50 for 10. Might do them in 14's too. Have used the size 11 salars, they seem humpier as they get shorter if that makes sense? Would like to see them in a smaller size when they come out and the same in the salar singles. whitetrout

I like the salar and wilson doubles in small sizes but for really small stuff I switch to bronzed trout doubles (the traditional "wee double").
I've used BMDs but don't like them as the wire is thicker than the bronzed doubles and it is tricky to get the fly in proportion. Good tube fly hooks though!

Douglas at Flymakers in Aberdeen has a whole host of Partridge and other hooks at great prices and will no doubt have small Wilson's in stock. Don't have his complete address to hand but he usually has an active ad on eBay

You can make extremely small tube flies that weigh next to nothing, even with the addition of a tiny treble on the end. Savilles sell very thin tubing by the foot, dress or paint the tube body and then shrink tube over to protect, remembering to leave a cavity for the treble's eye.
These are so light they move with the slightest movement of current and stay level in the water, unfortunately there is often the terrible problem of fish swallowing straight down and therefore hooking deep down.
