Peter O'Reily's book on salmon and trout flies of Ireland is a good reference book, obviously for Irish patterns though

Strood,
With the water levels the way they are something bright should do the trick, such as a cascade or allys
If we see summer levels again this season then a stoats tail or silver stoat will take a fair share.

found a novel idea if your into those turbo flies. the turbo discs are about a £5 for 10 i found a copper rove(a copper washer used in boatbuilding along with copper nails) which are about a £5 for 25, these feel heavier and are nearly same shape. i have about 6 of them(found them in workshop) if anybody wants to tie a prototype they can have them if they p.m. me.

Good idea, I was sure that someone with a CNC machine would come up with something similar as the Frodin cones/discs are exhorbitant. Looks like BTG may have found the solution. Do you have a picture? Found one on Google.... img442.imageshack.us/img442/2337/copperrovesthm1bd5924dec4.png
