I am intending to purchase a selection of Salar Doubles. What sizes should i get and what time of year would i use them. At the present time i allready have some size 9 and 11 in black, silver and gold. Cheers SN

I find these sizes (9 and 11) will do most of the time although I tend not to use small flies when I probably should. If I need to go bigger, I use tubes.

I concur with Donnie. I tied some flies on the 7's and 5's but they just don't look right in those sizes. For bigger sizes I would use tubes or a hook with a smaller gape.
Salar singles also work well in the bigger sizes.

I got 9s (gold and silver) a few weeks ago in Anglers Choice, Dundee. Wasn't looking for 11s so don't know if they had any.
