Ive been trying out various types of plastic tubing for tying onto and found boom tube to be both cheap and fit for the purpose of tying these tubes are 8" long and have an outer diameter of 3mm and cost £1 per pack of 5 heres the tube in 1" lengths and heat flared and here again with needle eyed size8 double and needle eyed size10 treble. note that the needle eyed hooks fit inside the tubes and they are a tight fit, larger eyed hooks will require the addition of junction tubing and heres a couple of finished flys tied on the tubes. Regards SN

i also fit the hook inside my plastic tubes, another tip is to slide some shrink rig [used as a junction tube] over the end of the brass ,copper or ali tube and hold it over the kettle untill it shrinks tight onto the tube body it will then take smaller doubles and trebles , the best size shrink tube to use for slipstream tubes is FOX 3.0 to 1.0 shrink tube i use clear shrink rig billy p
