Hi all I have a loop grey line 15ft that i use for my Salmon fishing in the back end .I want to buy a cheap 12ft double hander for sea trout fishing ,
Can anyone recommend a good combination of rod and fly line ,I want the rod to be able to spey cast ,and not to be to heavy . David .

David . Hi garrydog, welcome to the forum. Like you I also use a 15ft Loop Grey Line for salmon fishing and a good match for sea trout is the Guideline Le Cie 12ft 6 8/9 MF which is a super rod for both spey lines and shooting heads. Its not particularly cheap though, so if cost was an option I'd look at one of the shorter Loop blue line models which you can pick up at good prices. if you want to go beer budget something like the Shakespeare Odyssey 12fter springs to mind. There is one on eBay at present. No idea what they are like but the other Shakespeare double handers get good reviews form forum members cheers Splash

They don't come any cheaper than £38 Shakespeare Oddyssey 12' 8/9 www.mullarkeys.co.uk/I have cast the 15'er and it is the equal of many rods costing upwards of £300. I haven't tried the 12' but see no reason for it to not be as good. Aye you can certainly take a flier on it at that price.
