the first time i picked up a double handed fly rod was when i was ten year old on the foxford fishery of the river moy,it was managed then by my late father Chris Downey,that morning he took me down the river with a greys 12'6 fly rod and showed and explained to me a single spey and how its done and within an hour or two i had the hang of it and never looked back since
