I am going to the CLA game fair this year at the end of July. i am entering the hardy youth salmon distance competition. i have heard that the championship is on the Friday and the daily competitions are Saturday and Sunday. seen as i am only going for the one day i am going on the Friday. i am competent at casting up to 40 yards. i have never been at the CLA game fair before. i hope to find out what head length the line has ,etc, etc. any tips and information would be great. thanks

Last year for the youth salmon distance, I think they used a 13ft Hardy Sirrus rod with a MachI floating spey line. I think these have about a 60ft head length or so. Hope this helps, Ger

thanks ger, i hope they use a spey line with around 60-65 feet in length. As for the rod, well 14 foot would be great but 13 should hopefully be fine.

I think Springer could tell you the head length of the Mach 1
