Well I never, you'll be telling us that whisky originates from the Teifi valley next. ;D
Interesting though!
But as we all know, speycasting was invented in the US!

Don't believe everything you read on the Web (nobody ever checks it for accuracy)

The real skinny is the speycasting as we know it today was simply a cast, invented by the Inuit eskimos in what is now northern Canada/Alaska as a complex hand-lining method of delivering bone tube flies (very similar the Willie Gunn, I'm told) to the arctic char around 2-3000 years ago. When this method was stumbled across by a visiting presbyterian minister around 150+ years ago, he thought the casting might be adaptable to a fishing rod, and the rest, they say, is history.

Well I never, you'll be telling us that whisky originates from the Teifi valley next. Just home from Tesco's wine sale and can confirm that whisky is indeed produced in Wales. Nearly fell over at the price of the stuff though.
