Have a poke about in here for general stuff on the club fisheries. The two main clubs,Bodmin and Wadebridge, don't issue tickets in December. www.gethooked.co.uk/Andy

2.5 hrs max from the airport at that time of year (take you nearer double that at this time of year). Flight Bristol-Newcastle c.40 mins (doing the reverse trip up to the Tyne in Sept).

I am in both clubs that have the fishing on the Camel, if you can try and coincide your trip with the spring tides you should have a successful time, the only problem with that time of year are the leaves, depends if it gets cold and windy early which will get em down and out the way, I am a commitee member of Bodmin A.A, let me know if you want any further advice. You might want to see if you can get on an Air Southwest flight to Newquay - puts you pretty much on the doorstep...

October can be a very good month depending on rainfall and leaves, we have been running our own hatchery for the last 6/7 years so fish numbers should be on the increase, as for fly water, the Camel is fairly well covered with trees but if you can find a spot to get in that is reasonably clear then you should be ok, most people spin, flying C's (like the ones I make ) take the most fish, cost of tickets £15 per day or £60 a week, you should be able to get these in advance to give you more time on the water.
