Hi,
I have the Orvis Speyline Multi-Tip system (bought by my wife with all my other gear last Xmas - wouldnt have been my choice but she was "advised" by a friend)...anyway I found the line (10/11) difficult enought to cast, it seemed very rough and also the loops didnt flow nicely through the rod (Orvis Streamline). Anyway a few week ago the fast sink tip cracked after a couple of casts and it hadn't snagged (I didnt notice if it was cracked when I put it on but I dont think so). I was fishing at Kercock and Dennis/Gary kindly gave me a loan of a reel with the Monteith line & sink tip which I enjoyed using a lot more.
I took it back and they replaced the whole lot without any question but I havn't used it since because of the effort I found I was having to use in casting, I wasnt enjoying using it.
I bought a Windcutter from Robbie on here a couple of weeks ago and find it much easier to cast and enjoy using it.
I also (as I couldnt wait until my birthday - hence separate post re fly tying) bought the Monteith System last weekend and fished with it on Sat and felt like I had been using a 5/6 line in comparison to the Orvis one.
Anyway that was a long winded way of getting to the question of - does anyone know if the Orvis 100% guarantee would let me take the (replaced) line back and at least get a credit note for it as its a lot of money to sit on a reel and not be used?
Thanks

um, i got one a couple of weeks ago and used it for the first time with the rod i use the most and i also found it very difficult to get any lenght of cast, the shooting head seems very short and you have to strip in alot of the line to load the rod!! which i found very annoying and alot of wasted effort. i am going to give it another go before full and final judgement but it's m alot of money to be payed for a line that is suposed to be a big river line and castable, any body else with this line have the same problem? regards speers. bye the way i am fishing a medium spate river so the line should be perfect for the size of river, the rating is a 10 and the rod is a greys GRx 9/10, figure that one out??

I was using with an Orvis Streamline 10/11 15 ft so should have been matched but just didnt work. Do you have a problem with the loops getting stuck in the rod guides? I would recommend anyone considering purchasing to try the one from the line pool first. The line does seem very thick and heavy - maybe a 9/10 would have been better? I only wish I knew about this board and the line pool last year before my wife spent all that money

Anyone use the Orvis 7/8 Multitip system for a smaller rod and, if so, what is it like?
I am thinking about matching it to either my 13 AWF Daiwa for longer casting or my 11'3 Daiwa rated 7-9
