Russ Abbot's cover of Joy Division's 'Atmosphere' is pure class. Shame on you Dunbar, That's one of those songs that once it is mentioned, gets into your head and stays there for days. CLaG and Splash will now have to put up with me humming it all day tomorrow! The Blues Brothers version of stand by your man always sticks in my mind for being completely bizarre. CD CD Heh, heh. Could have been worse, I might have mentioned ' Agadoo' (although Black Lace's guest appearance in 'Rita, Sue & Bob too' performing 'we're having a gang bang' had a certain comedic value). Anyway, I digress - none are cover versions. For pure bizarreness, another one is British Electric Foundation's cover of Wichita Lineman'. BEF is Glenn Gregory from Heaven 17.

We seem to have become distracted. The aim of this thread is to pick one tune and put a caser for it. If your choice is available on You Tube then post the link. CLaG Ok CLaG , easy dude, some of us have to read these things of Treo's and the like. Here's a link for Devo doing satisfaction an proof that someone can make someting of a rolling stones (yawn) number. Can you imagine, they turned up at Knebworth in 1976 to support Genesis wairing tinfoil suits and shades and were promptly bottled off the stage by the irate hippies in the audience - FANTASTIC One of the worlds most underated bands IMHO..... www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvcuaJy9OwI

This wee link covers da brudders doing Bobby Freemans "Do ya Wanna Dance" but concludes with an, albeit poor , version of possibly the greatest song ever recorded by anyone at anytime, the magnificently dysfunctional "We're a happy family" a tale of wanton dysfuctionality in New York existence. For those of you who may be interested, check out the better Ramones videos but for a cover version combined with a bit of live mayhem this is pretty good www.youtube.com/watch?v=cg1885LyvFg&mode=related&search=

CLaG They're twisting your melons man Mine is Happy Monday's version of Step On. The case for it: iconic tune. And like all the Monday's stuff a low down 'n dirty groove. My Generation for mine (we will forgive Yes Please, where the drugs and creativity thing vaporised them and Factory) cant access youtube from here, but will add link later.
