Hi, Could anybody recommend a Spring Salmon river/Beat in Scotland that is a good fly water for around April/May time?
Thanks,
Macsalmo

Spey or Dee the problem is gettng on, if it is any good it is probably already booked. What are you looking for? a full week? Budget? will you take accomadation? how many rods?
Try the fishdee or fishspey sites.
I see Dave suggested this already

Thank you both for your feedback. I am looking for 2-3 days for 3 rods around April/May. We don't expect masses of fish, just to know we are covering the odd fish would keep us happy. Nice fly water up to £60 a day would be ok. We are happy to go B&B if need necc.
Thanks,
Macsalmo

I believe the findhorn could also be worth a look around may time too, although I've not fished it at this time of year. it does have good and accessible association water though. also well worth considering associations such as grantown on spey if you're having problems getting a private beat of choice. april/may is also a popular time for springers on the tweed - there is some availability being shown on www.fishtweed.co.uk, but as they're processing the applications for 2006 this week, i would expect there to be more shown next week.

Keep trying www.fishfindhorn.co.uk it should be launching soon. Only fishes well below the falls till the temperature goes up. Well there you go it has been launched without the final modifications.

wow - how about that for timing. so it looks like you're involved in this one as well Malcolm - at least the beat owners aren't as secretive as the spey!

You could always try the Deveron. Has had a decent run of springers the last two years and you can have a weeks fishing and accomodation for £60 per day rather than just three. Also no problem getting on and can be left until the last minute. Keep an eye on www.fishingthedeveron.co.uk for info. However spring rods up until end of May are easily booked over the phone. Frank
