He seems to have left us? I suspect dark forces are at play, or have I missed the obvious?

If he was going on holiday he could have put up a post so no one would worry.

I'm a moderator not a mind reader, if CLAG or any one chooses to delete his membership there is not much I can do about it.

Don't think he will be alone in deleting his membership. Sorry to see him leave but in light of recent posts from a new member I'm not surprised. The forum ain't what it used to be.

I certainly never deleted him, so I assume it was of his own doing, but your guess is as good as mine.

Jock , hope Clag comes back ,he stimulated my little grey cell/cells came over very Tiggerish to start ,roared a lot and suddenly started being a normalish poster still stimulating ,could write interestingly backed by sound knowlege and observation . Possibly the new Tigger will calm down ,sounds like he needs a day on the river !!

Spoke to him today and he's planning to set up his own forum. Like many now he doesnt believe the forum is properly managed and going by the amount of bad feeling caused by everyones favourite poster its no surprise to me. Why waste time writing something when you know Right Plageriser is going to try and rip the proverbial for his jollies. Guess if the membership drops sharply the owner will realise that its not getting managed properly. Adios amigos. But you never know CLag Who knows he may make a return as....................... RPSalmonella.....there to Feckin bug you Irrelevant or what eh. ;D

Interesting so if someone disagrees with Mr Clag on his new forum will he ban them?
I can hardly wait.
If you look at your own straw poll you will see the person you seem to dislike is actually not far behind the great Clag, for someone who has just joined he seems to have some followers.

Good luck to CLaG - pity he couldn't have posted reasons. Always good to shake hands with departing members (whether we agree or not) and wish one another well. Still, it's better to disappear than to hide behind another's words

I find it sad that CLAG has chosen to leave the forum. I have stated my views and supported them with supporting evidence and/or facts. They are available to be discussed by all and I at least expected CLAG to make serious and strong argument to challenge at least some of my views, I am disappointed that CLAG hasn't done so. We are all the poorer for that.

I have always enjoyed Clags contributions both in terms of style and content. Clag was good enough to take the trouble, to send me via PM, some very useful help and advice not so long ago which was most appreciated. Happy fishing Clag, you will be missed. Phil

They very rarely,if ever, reference real time fishing situations, rivers, beats or people. Why CLaG or indeed any other thinking angler would choose to engage with your spiteful, derogatory, pedantic and biased posts is quite beyond me and judging from the feedback, many other forum members as well. Thanks for screwing up a good place for salmon anglers to discuss there sport and related topics in an open and convivial setting

Agreed. Successful forums work based on mutual conviviality, friendliness and above all respect for each other.

We should count our blessings. Many forums are totally blighted by idiot postings. Ours has been and still is of a avery high quality. RPS may have come in blazing and if you have an elephant, he has the box to put it in, but his more recent posts are becoming more constructive- As always, you can always ignore the ones you don't like.. It is certainly not cause to abandon the forum. If Clag wants to start a new one I will happily join that too, but this forum is still a very useful site and long may it continue to be so. Even Willie Gunn has got over his snappy, unhelpful stage

I also regret the loss of Clag.
In the few month's I have been a member, he has provided some of the most informative and thought provoking threads. He has also freely acknowledged additional information added by other contributors.
The simple truth is that some people do not want to keep speaking when they are continually being interrupted by the pub bore!
I will follow tynetraveller's lead and join Clag's forum as well, if someone let's me know the link.

While tempted to leave myself, this is essentially an excellent forum, devoted mainly, but not exclusively to salmon fishing and helping others in this respect....songs, jokes all have their place I think there are many, myself included, who have not only gained knowledge but pleasure from this site. I'm reluctant therefore to give it up without a "fight" to keep this site as one, where members contribute and learn without being constantly harassed for their apparent irrelevant threads or comments. Difference of opinions ....yes of course, a prevailing theme of superior relevance......absolutely not. My advice, and many are already doing this, don't respond. If a member is ignorant and regularly disrespectful to others, with an air of dismissive superiority, ignore that member and their posts, let their threads go without comment. Look at yourself as being a clever salmon that ain't going to rise no matter what the fly etc. I would rather members like CLaG stay. People who, can be controversial, with strong opinions and give much to others, I can live with, the odd difference of opinion is par for the course of life. Those who are regularly confrontational, cause disruption and upset members on a regular basis, yes I can and will ignore. I hope the administrators and moderators do not. Cheers, Jock
