Remember having a pint with him in Verbier a few years ago and can only say what a TRAGIC loss. When i think back to meeting him and having had a goodtime in his company I thought what a guy.Perhaps and hopefully we will remember him fondly as he was a dynamic Loon and great racer RIP.Now he is a real loss

I have always been in to Motor sport and Colin was one of the real greats, a guy who had something that made the others look ordinary. A very sad day for all of us.

The guy is/was a true legend - I am still in shock - can't imagine what its like for his family- followed him from the very start of his career.. youtube has some excellent clips He was probably one if not THE fastest guys ever on 4 wheels - Schumacher refused to take up his offer of a head to head challenge in F1 and rally car for charity and he scared the Sh*t out of the F1 guys when he tested one a few years back - instantly on the pace.. I reckon the only who will come close if he moved over to 4 wheels will be Rossi lets hope something is done in his honour by the country...

I have been in to rallying for the last 25 years and have met most of the top Scottish guys over the years. In that time I have had 3 motorsport heroes, Henri Toivenen, Ayrton Senna and Colin McRae and now there are none left alive. Their exploits will live forever.
Saturday I will be at the McRae Stages. I expect all the McRaes will be there but nothing has been confirmed.
Sunday I will be at Lanark for the memorial.

Zeolite - are Jimmy or Alistair going to be there at all do you know?
I expect there will be huge crowds anyway - I know some guys coming over from Ireland as a tribute...

Always on the ragged edge like Senna and with poise and grace to match. Anyone else going through to Lanark?
