run tying down the shank tie in the hackle by the stalk,tail feather of a cockeral tie in flat gold metal tinsel cut it on an angle so it tapers next silver tinsel tied on underside wax thread and begin to build body body done ready for first rib wind on flat gold even turns 5 is more than enough wind the hackle in opposite way to rib rib with silver to lock hackle in tie in a teal feather by the tip,double it by holding fibres back two turns finished cut two wing slips from opposite bronze mallard shoulder,leave the feather stalk on,i tied the far one first then the near side whip finish and varnish 2 or 3 coats

Its a side tail feather of a cockeral,i stripped it on one side.It will get a swim when the season starts here but not for a few months yet,i will put some text on it,lost patience with it after sorting all the pictures out

Cheers lads the dressing is as 3/0 hook,gold an silver ribs,body is a mix of fine purple and red wool,cock tail feather stripped one side,teal throat,bronze mallard wing
